Great cinema. Located right in the middle of Colchester. Does not have its own parking. But is only a 5 min walk from St Mary's Multi storey car park. Best way to but tickets is to book online and collect at automated machines. Normal box office is closed and on the day tickets can only be bought from the concession stand. So this can slow down getting your drinks and snacks. There is a Costa as part of the building which can be used as a meeting place before or after a film. Clean and tidy and pleasant staff
I can't put in 6 stars, which is a shame. New town, new cinema, first weekend my kids visited. Didn't have high hopes. Towards the end of the day, so the little one was getting fractious. We queued for Rogue One buckets and meal deals, couldn't see something the little one would drink (I swear his blood type is Semi-Skimmed) he threw a wobbly, and the lovely man behind the counter, Kyle, came to the rescue. He found some milk, helped calm my son, everyone went into the cinema relieved. It doesn't take much, but it means loads when you're a single dad with cranky, excited kids. Great cinema with lovely, helpful staff. UPDATE: Went to see Avengers: Infinity War and had a great time. Gabriel sorted out the dazzling array of snacks, and really helpful when my friend had lost his hat. Superb customer service!

Very comfortable and a lovely group of staff. Food was decent and the price reasonable for the quality of screen. Caters for the blockbusters as well as the art films.
I'd been looking forward to the Curzon opening in Colchester for so long. I visited last week and it didn't disappoint! So much more pleasant than the Odeon in town, and a great partner for Firstsite next door. Generous legroom, excellent sound and the 4k projection was brilliant. Drinks and food menu looks good too. I'll be regular here now.

A gem of a small theatre. The performance is superb too. The wall is covered with photos of past performance. Very nostalgic and intimate theatrical sentiment.
Never been here before. It is a nice little theatre. Was nice and cool when we were here.

This is the most staggering operatic venue. We saw Carmen in a utterly amazing production owing much to the completely spectacular set here at Bregenz. It is like nothing we have seen before, see it under any circumstances if you can. That said there is the weather. It was pouring down until 10 minutes before the scheduled start and everyone was huddled under umbrellas waiting the go, no go decision; they went and it was perfect, not a spot for the 2.5 hours of the performance. Do take a cushion though, the seats are hard, also a plastic rain cape, covers more than a cagoule. We were lucky and were able to leave during the last claps of the final applause which made getting a taxi easy, could be hard otherwise I think. Don't miss it!
Being new to the area, I was delighted to find the Riverside theatre and what beautiful grounds it is set in too. I saw Zero live performance of two powerful erotic people - a very strong beautiful black guy and equally beautiful sensual lovely fair skinned female with red hair. Their bodies were continually entwining together with the most incredible powerful music taking me to a lovely calm, peaceful and lovely place. I could have watched again! The coffee shop afterwards is so relaxed and welcoming too. My second visit to the lovely theatre was to see the National Theatre Live modern filmed version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth - intro was excellent but when the act started, I soon realised I was totally out of my depth - couldn’t understand a word. I even fell asleep and sadly had to leave after part 1. My friend was also Happy to go but we did discuss on our journey home. Let this not put anyone off. I believe in honesty in all areas of my life. I was never taught about Shakespeare. I’m not giving up - another performance, another time I hope I may just begin to understand the incredible man! Looking forward to returning to the Riverside. With love Lynda x

Saw Prince tribute ..Mark Anthony and it was brilliant. Great performance and a very enjoyable evening. Bit rsque and a few of the audience offended but if you know Prince you should of expected it...wouldn't be tribute to him if a clean show!! 😁
